The company – Conscious and innovatively
Our family manage an agricultural company since 1936 in this house. We try
to keep valuable traditions and values.
We are a member of the Lower Austrian pig breeding association and we are
holding 120 “Herdebuchsauen”. In addition, we use mainly company
feedstuffs. These are stored and mixed at the farm. The food is given dryly
through a pipe feeding system. At our farm we make cross-breeding of the breed
noble pig x country race, once or twice R/P vaccinated.
On request, we offer young sows which are also covered and scanned.
Rearing
- Strict 3-week-rhythm
- The well-being of our animals is in the center. This guarantees for a high standard of service.
- By the systematic intersection of animals of the breeds noble pig and country race, distinctive qualities like fertility, mother performances, vitality, mast performance and stable foundations are combined optimally. This is examined in the testing centers constantly.
- Optimal climate control with coercive ventilation and heating.
- Optimal results are possible in modern attitude systems, our performance indicators show this.
- Spacious deck center with a spacious movement room and intensive boar contact.
“Outer climate stable”
- Special attention is given to the rearing of our female animals.
- With a weight of 30 kg the animals are handed over to an outer climate stable, which is built newly. We have made positive experiences with this:
Support and observation effort is comparably with a conventional stable
Optimal movement supply for the rearing (1,5 m2)
Sows are very robust and fit
Optimal rearing conditions with respect to light and temperature
(for warm couch area, for cool eating area for young sows)
Health
We have already installed a “Healthmonitoringsystem” at our farm
some years ago. Repeatedly in the year we have to make swab sample at sow,
piglets and cultivation runners. The documentation is carried out on a sticker,
which shows the origin and performance proof.
Further precautionary measures:
- Consistent pure-out system
- Young sow quarantine in an evacuated stable
- Stable visits only with stable-own-clothes
